Re-connected!

Funny how wakes and funerals bring families together in one place when in fact we have a lot of reasons to see everyone in a more happy and special occasions. Just last weekend, my Mom and I together with my siblings went to Laguna to visit my Uncle who has been suffering to colon cancer for months. Unfortunately, his condition  got worse and worse everyday. As soon as we arrived home here in Batangas last Sunday afternoon, my mom received a text message from my cousin saying that our Uncle joined our Creator :(

We went back to Laguna last Monday to attend my Uncle's wake. Just as expected, our relatives were all there too. I have seen so many familiar faces but I barely remember their names! :p (SORRY, I suck at remembering people's name). It was supposed to be a gloomy affair for it was a wake. On the contrary, the wake served as an informal reunion for our family. I got the chance to bond with my cousins whom I haven't talk to in ages. We took advantage of the nights to exchange stories of how our lives went for the past years. We even had time for a good laugh. I'm pretty sure my Uncle is so happy to see his nephews and nieces laughing all together :)

It may sound ironic but I do believe that wakes and funerals bring out the best in each family! I am so happy I was able to re-connect with the people I grew up with and I will try my best not be a snob anymore. HAHAHA :p It feels like I found the missing pieces in my jigsaw puzzle by re-connecting with my ates and kuyas ....

Rest in Peace Kaka Javier! :D

Thank You is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!

Yes, I did apply for Cum Laude. Luckily my grades met the quota. Nothing's official yet, deliberation is set on Tuesday next week. Though no official announcement has been made yet, I am extremely happy with the undying love and support my family has given me all these years. My Facebook Wall has been slightly flooded with congratulatory messages from my family and relatives! :D

Thank you Lord for giving me a very strong support system, my family. I won't be able to achieve all those things if it weren't for them. I feel so blessed for having wonderful people in my life. I owe this achievement to them. I LOVE MY FAMILY :D Thank you is even an understatement!!!

8 WonderfulYears @ BatStateU ARASOF

Since I was in grade school I have been curious of what it’s like to be in the school that is considered to be the best in our town. I always hear people say “Napakaganda ng turo dyan”  “Yung mga graduate dyan, naku magagaling”. When I was in Grade 6 and was about to enter high school, my parents had only one school in mind and that’s Batangas State University (it was still BSU at that time) popularly known in Nasugbu as “Fisheries”. So to make the story short, I passed the entrance exam along with my other classmates.  I got frustrated at first because I wasn’t able to make it to the star section during first year. It was a big blow for me during that time because I have been a consistent star section student not to mention I graduated with honors during grade school.

I clearly remember how my first day in BatStateU went. It was June 13, 2004, I was carrying a big back pack with all my notebooks and books inside (I’m not aware of using a cattleya or a sterling binder yet :P). First Year was a bit rough for me, considering the fact that I am still trying to find my place in school. I have no concrete set of friends; I was being bullied behind my back. It was really frustrating. Indeed High School is far different from Grade School. But those dark times did stop. The moment I started my Second Year in high school, things had been pretty good. I got transferred to the Star Section, I met friends who are still my friends up to this moment. Now I understand what my Mom had told me, “High School is the best four years of a person’s life”. Junior and Senior years were way better than the first two years. I had finally found my place in school. I have friends who are always by my side. I had experienced many “firsts”. BATSTATEU gave me the best High School experience!!!! :D

During our High School graduation I did not shed a single tear. I thought I’m gonna cry but I did not. What I felt is extreme sadness, knowing we’re all going to different universities. Most of my friends attended college in Manila, Dasma and other places. While Gen, Casy, Janine and I remained here in BatStateU. I did not had the its-the-first-day-of-college-I’m-nervous feeling. I knew the place pretty well so getting jitters is out of the picture. I am not excited for college. HAHA! But I guess the Lord had written a beautiful college journey for me. Opportunities came pouring in. I have discovered so many things about myself. I was able to shine in ways I have never imagined I can do. Though I have wanted to do something big, I never had the confidence to pursue those things simply because I am afraid I can’t do it. God had it all in perfect timing! My college years are the most productive years of my life. I have seen myself in a broader horizon. I did things that made my parents and my school proud. I have found happiness and fulfillment despite the busy schedule and the stress I’m getting by participating in different activities. BATSTATEU gave me the best College experience!!!! ;)

Now that I’m about to leave my Alma Mater for good, I wanted to share with you what had transpired for the past eight years I am with Batangas State University ARASOF. Whatever goodness there is in me right now, I owe it to my Alma Mater and more importantly to the people who have been with me during my journey. All the knowledge and wisdom I have right now, I have got it from the best faculty members this institution have. Thank you Mama and Papa for sending me to Batangas State University! Thank you BATSTATEU ARASOF for the wonderful eight years!!! Thank you BATSTATEU ARASOF for giving me beautiful memories to remember!!!  This place has a large space in my heart. It saddens me to leave BatStateU behind but I know I have to keep moving forward, achieve great things and use all the learning that this institution has given me. In that way, I can make my Alma Mater proud!

Some High School pics that I managed to saved :)

Insomiac

Its 2 in the morning already and Mrs. Sleepy haven't knocked on my door yet. I don't see any signs of Mr. Yawn too :) I don't know why I am still up. I suddenly had the urge of writing random and senseless things again. Well, actually I have been wanting to write about our Retreat last weekend. Its just that I can't put the right words together in order to create a posts about it. I guess I still need to process all the things that I have reflected on during the two days I'm in Tagaytay.

With graduation coming up and with some "issues" we have here at home, my mind is really wandering most of the time now. I find myself thinking and probably worrying of what the next days, months and years have in store for me and for the rest of my family. This year, major changes had happened and I know there are more to come. The uncertainties of tomorrow bothers me more than ever. For I know, we are going to live in a new place soon and I am walking a new room as soon as I get out of school. Maybe I'm just having graduation jitters. Considering how tough the competition nowadays, I must  be really nervous for my family and my own future. But I know, the Lord will never let me down nor I am going to disappoint Him too. I may not be perfect but through prayers I know I don't need to worry. Cause the Lord is always there to guide and help me no matter what happens. I just need to TRUST and HAVE FAITH in Him, everything is possible. All is going to be well in the end :)

curly no more ;)

When I was a kid I remember having straight, short hair. I always have it shoulder length before. By the time I was 11 I had it grew a bit longer. Back in the day, I am not blessed of having a nice hair. You know, the shiny and long ones my classmates have. Mine was always "buhaghag" :P Poor little Angela, she needed to hide her "buhaghag" hair by constantly having it tied. HAHA!

The bad hair days continued as I enter high school. Of course I was a bit conscious with how I look like. Seeing that most girls in my year wears shiny hair, I cannot help but pity myself because I have a dry and tangled hair :( The only solution that I had was to have my hair pony tailed. But during my second year, it seems like the hair fairy heard my plea, due to constantly putting my hair into a bun, the strands magically formed big waves making my hair straight at the top and curly at the bottom part ;) With that, I became a bit confident of flaunting my big curls. My classmate usually touch my hair and telling me how lucky I am to have those curls :))) But then, my hair still doesn't let me have good hair days.It remained to be dry and "buhaghag".

So after being stuck with curly, buhaghag hair all these years, my Mom gave me a trip to the salon last week to have my hair treated :) Yey! Finally, I bid my curls goodbye and say hello to my straight hair ;) No more dryness, no more tangles just straight, soft hair! wohoooooo!!!

The Black Star Tour Live in Manila

OMO!!!!!! Last February 16 my cousins and I were one of the thousands who came to Araneta to see Avril Lavigne perform live for the Filipino crowd. I was never a fan of her music genre. I was familiar with who she is and what are her songs but really I AM NOT A FAN! I don't know what hit me to buy tickets for her concert. Maybe because my cousins are all going and I haven't experienced watching a foreign singer live on stage. HAHA! So there we were, at the gates of Araneta along with the hundreds of Avril fanatics. We were there 2 hours before the show. Bilang General Admission pa lang ang kayang abutin ng mga allowance namen, we have to be there early to find a perfect spot.

After hours of waiting finally the lights went off. The moment darkness took over, fans started to scream in excitement. At dahil excited ang mga tao sa paligid ko, nakisigaw na din ako. (I was moved by the screaming fans :P). Somedaydream did the front act. Singing his famous "You and me sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G" (uyyy napakanta sya!) After the performance of the chinito cutie, (eeeek, aminin cute si SomedayDream) again the crowd roared in excitement as Avril and her band took over the stage! This time I was with them as they yell her name. My hands were in the air, I was jumping and dancing and singing together with the crowd!!!! My cousins and I really had so much fun!!! I never sang that loud in my entire life. HAHA :p Grabeeee, I am so kilig while watching Avril (hindi daw fan, pero kilig na kilig naman).

Our first concert experience was really a blaaaaaassst! On our way home, while inside the car we were still talking about the concert. The Avril concert hangover continued until the next few days. Now, whenever I hear an Avril song which she happened to sang during the concert I can't help but get mushy as I imagine how awesome the night of Fenruary 16 was :))))

After seeing her live, I realized that she is indeed the Rock Princess :D Avril is awesomesauce!!!

lazy butt mode :D

Urgh!! Anyone knows how to transfer posts from other blogs to here? :) Cause I'm feeling lazy to do the "copy-paste" technique. Well, I managed to transfer 3 posts I guess. If not for the silly text background that keeps appearing whenever I posts, I will be more than willing to copy-paste the night away. But I badly needed sleep right now. Its going to be a long day tomorrow. I have so many errands to do. Not to mention I have to be in school at 8am for the Alumni Orientation :D Its already 12:14am so I really need to sleep .....

To my beloved silent readers, if you want to check out the other blog entries that I had during the past months you can hop to my other blog -- http://littlemissdreamer.posterous.com/ :) Go check it out :P

Starting today, this is going to be the HOME of my rants and thoughts :) Bye bye! Good night ... Lalalalaa ;))

Blessings come in unexpected ways. J Just this morning as we are having our breakfast, my very generous grandfather handed me a 500pesos. Of course, my heart was jumping in joy! Biruin mo at 6 in the morning may blessing na agad. Truly, I am very thankful for that. I put the money on my bag’s pocket and left home. I went on my daily route to the office where I’m having my internship. I passed by at St. Joseph’s Chapel to say my daily prayer and of course to give thanks for all the wonderful blessings that the Lord has showered me, my family and my friends. After I went out of the chapel, I suddenly remembered the money my Lolo handed me. I only put it in the pocket. So I decided to transfer it on my wallet. But to my surprise, the money wasn’t there in my bag’s pocket!!!!!
I lost it?! I don’t know! How?! When?! Where?! I am really clueless. The only thing that I knew is that I had put it on my bag!! That’s it! When I got in the office, I ransacked my bag. Checking every pocket and trying to remember what happened earlier this morning. I even called my Aunt to check if I have dropped the money somewhere in the house. Waaaaahhhh!!! Until this very hour, I still have no idea where could I have dropped the bill or to where did it go! I just hope I can still find it even it seems impossible. I am also wishing that by chance I really accidentally dropped it, that the person who got my bill is someone who’s really in need.
I’m trying my best not to feel bad about it. What makes me feel awful is my carelessness!! And the fact that the person who gave that to me is someone I respect the most. More than the monetary value of the thing lost, it’s the sentimental value that makes me feel like I lost a million today L
On the brighter side, I’m thinking that I still can earn the money lost and a lesson is learned from that experience J

another weekend to remember :)

After a long week at the office, i am so looking forward for this day, 12-03-11! not just because i’m going home to Batangas but this is also the first time that my cousins and I drove on our own going to our Lolo’s home in Batangas ;) Well, technically, its my cousin Trixie who’s driving coz she’s the one who got a car. haha! Plus, what makes the weekend extra is its our home town’s fiesta! So, we expect a lot of food on the table! And yeessss, my tummy was the happiest that day! Saraaaaap!!! :D
So here’s what we did over the weekend:
  • Breakfast at McDonald’s Tagaytay
  • Side trip to Balayan, Batangas
  • Pictures and moooore pictures taken :)
  • Pig-out at HOME!!!
Then its Sunday already, TIME TO GO BACK IN MANILA :( But before we head home, we grabbed a cup of coffee at Starbucks in Tagaytay where we also had some sweet cakes! Starbucks’ S’mores is sooooo goooood!!!! :p ahhh, now I wanna eat one ;)
I look forward to another roadtrip session with mah looves!! If we could only do that every weekend we will. Since next year three of my cousins are flying to the States already and it will take them years before they visit Philippines again. The thought of it makes me sad :( This will be the first time they’re going to be thousand miles away from us! So, for now, we’ll have to collect more wonderful memories to remember as we grow old and probably some more pictures to look at :)

#PeopleI'mThankfulFor

Posted on www.littlemissposterous.com last November 25,2011

Yesterday at the office, while I'm waiting my boss to give me some task I opened my twitter and saw the hashtag #PeopleI'mThankfulFor. I guess that's for Thanksgiving. When I saw it, I thought of the two most important groups in my life - my FAMILY AND MY FRIENDS :)
I just realized how lucky I am to have a very strong support system. I am so fortunate to have these kind of people in my life. My family who had always been there for me. Supporting me in every way possible. For always making me feel that I am important and that I am loved. Being the eldest grandchild wasn't easy. Being the "Ate", I need to be responsible at some point. I try my best to be objective at all times but I am no perfect just like all of you :) I am not a perfect example. I just try my best to be the person my parents will be proud of. Responsibility hit me pretty much the time when we lost our Father nearly three years ago. People around me keeps on telling me that I need to be more responsible. I did some things that I wish I didn't. Now I am working on myself. Sort of rebuilding my character. And as always, trying my very best to be the daughter my Mama will be proud of. I just wanted to let her know that I am trying!! I don't want to promise anything to her for I know somehow, promises are meant to be broken. I am thankful and blessed to have a Mom like her. Always there to support me and tell me the words I wanted to hear :) Moreover, I am very THANKFUL to my entire family for always being there! Being there always means the world to me :D
Aside from my loving family, my FRIENDS who never fail to make me smile everytime I'm with them. I have been friends with my "favorite people" for almost 8years now. Some of them I knew since I was eleven and some came to our lives when we started highschool. Our circle had gone a loooong waaaaay!!!! I don't know how would I describe the bonding that we all have. aaahhh! i cannot simply put the words altogether. that's how I love this people. You know, the feeling that there are people who care about you whom you do not have any blood ties! People outside from your family who loves you like their own sister! ahhhh!!! Really, I love my friends so much!! I love them the way I love my family. My friends are like brothers and sisters to me :">
I cannot imagine my life without my Family and Friends ;) they define me somehow. I thank the Lord for giving me peole who loves me and understands me. People who had been patient with me everytime I turn into a hormonal monster! hahaha (I have my moods, you know!) My life had become more colorful with these people in my life. i do not know what to do if I don't have them in my life!

we meet again, blogspot!

Apparently, this blog has been down for bajillion years! HAHA! All along I thought I won't be able to open this anymore because I have totally forgotten the password and e-mail address that I used in opening this blog. Well it really seems that Google knows it all! Thanks to the technology we had today. May collaboration pala si G-mail at Blogger ;) So my g-mail account is related to my blogger account, they're uhmmm I think cousins?! Ah, ewan, basta na-retrieve ko na yung account ko. End of convo :P

So for the past few months that I'm away from blogspot, I found a new home for my rants and thoughts which are sometimes non-sense! ewan ko ba kung bakit blog ako ng blog eh wala naman akong readers. Ayyy! *idea pops suddenly with matching light bulb* Siguro I have plenty of silent readers!!! HAHA! I knew it, you guys are reading my blog but don't follow it nor comment on my posts. Are you guys shy? Please don't be! Feel free to comment and follow or even bash my senseless posts :) mwahahahaha! Pang-boost lang ng morale. Alam ko namang wala akong readers.

So as I was saying, my blog posts for the past months had been published here www.littlemissdreamer.posterous.com :) This had been my home since November. Now that my blogger account is back, I will be doing the ever classic "copy-paste" method to transport the posts from posterous to blogger since I don't know how can I import them here :D So, to my silent readers, expect a flood on your dashboards as I begin with the "copy-paste" technique :D

PS -- I do hope that this senseless blog will stand longer this time :P
